Description

Based on Christ’s seven last words, Dramaturgia: Paixões is a project that stems from Ricardo Cabaça’s fascination with the figure of Jesus Christ. After listening to Joseph Haydn’s The Seven Last Words of Christ, he felt the urge to write seven short plays for each of the words. A reflection on Christ, the Passion, his last words on the cross. The seven plays are written on an online platform, where the six readers/critics follow the progress of the writings live, taking on the role of active listeners, either by commenting or contributing with references. In each session, two plays are read out as a staged reading, and there is a short talk with a guest in order to debate the words of Christ in the context of the arts.
